Every year veteran mamas, new mamas, and expecting mamas await the release of the newest UPPAbaby products in hopes of purchasing the hottest new baby products on the market.
Someone once told me that once you go UPPAbaby you never go back, and I want to see what all the fuss is about.
Purchasing a stroller system for you child is a huge investment, they don’t come cheap, so I wanted to know exactly what I was getting in to before I handed over the credit card.
Since UPPAbaby releases a new stroller system each year, should you wait for the much anticipated 2019 model, or will the 2018 model suit all of your needs?

The UPPAbaby Vista went through a remodel before the 2018 release date earlier this year. To join the already loved features the UPPAbaby team has added:
- Extended Bassinet – The bassinet went through a remodel to allow an extra 2.5 inches of length without actually making the bassinet much larger than previous models. It now accommodates taller babies easier, and you can get more use out of it.
- Powder-Coated Frame – The frame is now powder-coated instead of carbon-coated to prevent scratches.
- 100% Premium Leather – All 2018 models now come with 100% chemical free premium leather handle bar and belly bar.
- Front Wheel Design – The front wheels now match the back to make maneuvering your UPPAbaby Vista easier
Other Features of the Vista are:
- Includes both infant bassinet and toddler seat
- Easily turns to travel system with purchase of UPPAbaby Mesa Infant Car Seat
- All weather protection with bug shield, rain shield, and SPF 50 sun shield
- Huge storage basket with 30lb weight limit
- 180 degree five position reclining seat
- Lightweight aircraft aluminum alloy chassis
- Locking front swivel wheels
- Asjustable leg rest
- Four wheel suspension system
- Telescoping height adjustable handlebar
- Easy to use rear foot brake
- Ability to accommodate up to three children at once
What I Like About The UPPAbaby Vista 2018
When it comes to strollers, the UPPAbaby Vista 2018 edition is the Cadillac of all strollers. The high quality materials that are used to craft it really shine bright in the 2018 model, and it is made to last your growing family for years.
It has the ability to accommodate up to three children at one time with the purchase of add-ons, instead of having to purchase another stroller system.
Because of its ability to hold more than one child, I like this stroller for those that have twins. All you would have to do is purchase another seat and off you go.
I love that the seat is reversible, it allows the child to face the pusher for younger children, as well as face out to accommodate larger children who love to take in the sights on their walk.
I am a big “travel system mom”, I actually prefer them for getting in and out of the car often, and our busy lifestyle. The frame can easily turn in to a travel system with the UPPAbaby Mesa Infant Car Seat.
If you already have a different brand of car seat purchased – don’t worry! UPPAbaby has recently introduced the car seat adapter bar for Graco, Chicco, Peg Perego and Maxi Cosi infant seats.
The bassinet is certified for safe infant sleep, so you can use it at home while your little one is a newborn. I had our daughter in a bassinet for the first three months beside our bed, and it was so convenient during night feeding times.
You can easily keep your baby sleeping and click in to the frame and get out the door without disturbing your babies sleep.
What I Dislike About The UPPAbaby Vista 2018
One thing that I really did not like about this stroller is that there is no cup holders or a storage compartment at the handlebar. There are some options available for purchase, but I like to have my coffee, phone, iPod, keys, all up near my hands for ease of reach while out and about.
One other thing I find as a disadvantage to the UPPAbaby Vista stroller is the fact that it is quite bulky. Although it is designed to be sleek and great for those stylish city moms, you better have room to store it and all the extra’s available. I could see this being particularly tricky if you are using it for multiple children, and are in a condo or apartment.
The much awaited UPPAbaby Vista 2019 has a potential release date of February 2019!
So, is it really worth the wait?
Well, there are actually no structural or design changes to the UPPAbaby Vista 2019. The only changes that have been made are the addition of three new colours to choose from: Spenser, William, and Bryce.
Spenser -Soft Grey tartan plaid with yellow accent tones. The leather handlebar and bumper bar will be a deep moss colour.
William – Blue chambray oxford fabric with white and navy accent tones. The leather handlebar and bumper will be a deep navy colour.
Bryce – All white marl fabric with a slightly shiny finish. The handlebar and bumper bar will be a deep chestnut colour. Bryce will be replacing the Loic stroller model.
UPPAbaby will also be retiring Loic and Taylor, so if you have your eye set on one of those two colours, better snag it up while the 2018 model is still on the market.
In a previous review, I rated this stroller a 98/100, it definitely deserves a thumbs up from me.
It is so well-built, and such care and thought has gone in to designing this model that UPPAbaby really has taken you and your babies safety and comfort to the front lines here.
The price is on the high side compared to some other models of stroller that are on the market right now, but you truly do get what you pay for with this one, and it will be the only stroller you will need if you are planning on adding to your family quickly, or sometime down the road.
As long as you are alright with one of the current colours that are out there in the 2018 line, there is no sense waiting until February for the 2019 design.
